Hopefully, users who did not know they can connect to Google Play to get achievements will notice it and get onboard.

A new version (1.0.0.2) of QL Japanese Kana has been released on Google Play. The update contains a small database reading fix, animations to multiple screens, and the addition of “alternative reading” to the study view (where applicable).

A lot of things are going on with QL Japanese Kana at the moment: the test and practise result views have been made more consistent, achievements are mostly in place, in-app billing library has been added (but not configured on the server side), the database has been updated to support notifications, tests can now be re-taken at once and loads of improvements and tweaks all over…

A new idea for a side project have come up as well: a stand alone fast-paced practise game with a single game mode where you need to give correct answers before you run out of time and the character reaches the bottom of the screen. Most of the current codebase and resources should be useful for such a game, so implementation time should be relatively low.

Quick update: loads of things are being polished and adjusted.

For instance, the study screen is undergoing some changes and improvements, and animations are now in place. Enhanced multi-resolution support is an ongoing work as well for most views.

Most new icons are in place now, and Google Play achievements are being created on the server side and integrated into the client.
